Hello. I would like some feedback on the topic of sanctuary as it relates to the following excerpt from a book I am reading titled "Living the Jewish Life" by Anita Diamant
"With the destruction of the Second Temple in Jerusalem in 70 C.E. the focus of Jewish religious and ritual life had to change. The Jewish home became the new center of Judaism. However, this littl sanctuary ahs never been a museum for vistigial rituals and ceremonies; it is home, the place where basic human needs are expressed and met. Home is the primary source of identity and education, as well as of affection, recognition, an dsexual fulfillment. For Jews, making home into a little sanctuary means incorporating a range of beautiful and meaning mitzvot that make residents and visitors mindful of the blessings of peace, hospitality, and beauty."
Now consider the following: 1. Should we as Christians also consider our home a "Church"?
2. What do we consider our home to be?
3. If our home isn't our church or sanctuary, what about our heart?
I look forward to hearing your comments. God IS Good, Tammy J
